Letter from Our CEO
When I started Segpay in 2005, it was on the premise that we were going to do things right and that would help us earn the respect of our clients, acquirers, and card brands. We set out to be the most responsive, transparent, and compliant payment facilitator in the space. We still start each day with that foundation and live by those core values.
Initially, we launched in the European market where there was only one other high-risk payment facilitator. We opened with the belief that our client’s funds would always be protected. We were the first payment facilitator to have all client funds held or “segregated” to settlement accounts, away from operational funds. In fact, our original tagline, was “You Get Paid Before We Do.” Today, regulations require that all Payment Facilitators hold client funds in settlement accounts with licensed credit institutions. We were ahead of our time!
We were also one of the first payment facilitators to earn our license as an Authorized Payment Institution (API) in the UK. Thanks to Brexit, we are now licensed with the Central Bank of Ireland to service the EU Market as an API.
As our payment facilitator business grew, we expanded our service offering to include Gateway Services along with Merchant Services. Adding this solution allows Segpay to service any type of payment need a client might have. It also gives our clients flexibility as their business grows.
The team at Segpay puts in a lot of work each day to take the best possible care of our clients. Our system enhancements are all driven by our client’s need to improve conversions and grow their revenue. Great care is given to network security and we approach everything with a risk-minded perspective. We are always there with our merchants—All the Way to Paid ™.

President & CEO
Cathy Beardsley helps people and businesses navigate high-risk payments, fraud mitigation, and subscription-based billing.
As President and CEO at Segpay, she oversees the entire Segpay team as well as monitoring the latest payment industry challenges and changes to help clients find the best payment solutions for their business.
For Cathy, keeping clients safe and compliant is the most rewarding part of the role. Cathy is also a board member of the Free Speech Coalition.
Outside of the office, Cathy enjoys travel, live music, and spending time with her family.
VP of Finance
David helps the business with financial analysis, meeting important regulatory requirements, and managing multiple banking relationships.
As VP of Finance at Segpay, he oversees Finance & Accounting as well as Compliance and our Ireland subsidiary. For David, solving problems and providing analysis of contracts with various partners is the most rewarding part of the role.
Outside of the office, David enjoys golf, time at the beach, and following his favorite sports teams.
VP of Human Resources
Jenilsa helps people and businesses to direct and oversee the organization’s Human Resource plans in ways that support the organization’s mission and overall strategy.
As the VP of Human Resources, she provides executive-level leadership and guidance to Segpay’s HR operations. For Jenilsa, working with her colleagues is the most rewarding part of her role.
Outside of the office, Jenilsa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, kickboxing, and helping in her community.
VP of Fraud & Compliance
Chris helps Segpay and its clients maintain compliance with the ever-changing regulatory and card brand requirements while keeping two eyes on fraud prevention.
As a VP of Fraud and Compliance at Segpay, he oversees a team of dedicated professionals who are the best at what they do.
Outside of the office, Chris enjoys finding time away from the city for hiking, fishing, foraging, and trap and skeet shooting.
Sr. Director of Operations
Marco helps our organization by identifying ways for our teams to be effective and consistent.
As a Senior Director of Operation at Segpay, he oversees the Product Development Team as well as the Information Technology Team. For Marco, helping others resolve things they cannot resolve on their own is the most rewarding part of the role.
Outside of the office, Marco enjoys dining in new places, involvement in his kids’ sports, and travel.
Director of Sales
Kristi helps Segpay merchants process payments securely online.
As the Director of Sales, she oversees the sales team and underwriting process. For Kristi getting a merchant’s website live to process transactions and educating them along the way is the most rewarding part of her role.
Outside the office, Kristi enjoys spending time with her family and friends going to the beach, movies, comedy clubs, and participating in game nights with a home-cooked meal.
Director of Support Services
Sean helps businesses integrate, innovate, and succeed.
As the Director of Support Services, he oversees merchant technical integrations as well as customer service operations. For Sean, making things work is the most rewarding part of the role.
Outside of the office, Sean enjoys traveling, exploring new exotic cuisines, and making memories with his family.
Director of Software Development
Gustavo helps businesses by driving the implementation of complex technical solutions, effectively leading software development teams, and providing specialized expertise to accomplish the industry needs.
As the Director of Software Development at Segpay, he oversees the QA and Software Development teams as well as the recently incorporated Data Analytics team. For Gustavo, mentoring and drive the team’s success is the most rewarding part of the role.
Outside of the office, Gustavo enjoys traveling, acting, and dancing.
Europe Leadership Team
Head of Finance
Maria helps Segpay Ireland operate effectively and in line with regulatory standards.
As Head of Finance for Segpay Ireland, Maria oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the company, as well as working with Segregated Payments Global Finance Team. For Maria, providing financial and strategic support is the most rewarding part of the role.
Outside of the office, Maria enjoys spending time with her family, walking, and keeping fit.
Head of Underwriting
Paul helps Segpay onboard new merchants in line with regulatory requirements and the corporate risk appetite.
As Head of Underwriting, Paul oversees the global underwriting team. For Paul, mentoring and developing the team to onboard new merchants whilst protecting the business is the most rewarding part of the job.
Outside of the office, Paul enjoys swimming, reading and gardening.
UK Leadership Team
CEO, Segpay UK
Stanley has extensive experience in the payments industry across Europe and beyond. He has held senior and executive roles at Visa and various merchant acquirers including Worldline, Worldpay and Ingenico. Stanley has also done consulting for blue-chips and start-ups in Fintech and has run a successful coaching and organizational development practice. Stanley holds two post-graduate degrees from the University of Oslo and Ashridge Executive Business School.
Chief Commercial Officer
As CCO, Brian is responsible for setting the overall direction for the company’s growth with a specific focus on helping merchants across multiple industries grow their businesses utilizing Segpay’s full suite of online payment processing solutions.
Brian brings to Segpay over 30 years of experience working for large financial institutions including Visa, NatWest, Lloyds Banking Group, First Data (Now Fiserv), a data analytics company and most recently a board position at a global payments company building their European propositions. He has also held positions in strategy, innovation, marketing, and commercial development.
Head of Compliance & Money Laundering Reporting Officer
David brings over 40 years of financial services experience to Segpay. He has a broad knowledge in international banking and associated products and has hands-on functional knowledge of SWIFT, BACS, CHAPS and other electronic banking and payment systems. Much of David’s career has been spent in the delivery of financial services to international corporations and high net worth entrepreneurs. His career culminating in being appointed as the Managing Director of an offshore Bank and a Trust Company.
