Mike helps Segpay and its customers to navigate the payments world – making the way smoother for customers while allowing them the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are dealing with a compliant, efficient, vigilant and caring organization. Mike has over 30 years’ experience as a top legal practitioner and has also served as a member on the boards of several highly influential payments and financial service industry associations.
As CEO of the Irish based European business Mike provides overall direction and leadership for the company. He is responsible for setting the strategic goals and objectives of the organization and ensuring that the necessary resources are in place to achieve them – always keeping in mind the central role that compliance and security plays for our merchants and their customers.
Outside the office Mike’s interest in writing has manifested itself in other ways. He is the author of the best-selling “Along the Banks – A Guide to Cycling Ireland’s Royal Canal” (2018), and the Covid-inspired series of essays “Hello Out There”. He currently lives in Dublin with his wife and two sons.
Eddie Chandler
Head of Compliance & Chief Risk Officer
Eddie helps Segpay and its European clients to maintain compliance with the continually evolving regulatory landscape and the challenges this brings.
As Head of Compliance and Chief Risk Officer, Eddie manages the compliance and risk functions for Segpay’s Centre of European Union operations based in Dublin.
Eddie is a seasoned European executive with extensive compliance and risk experience across asset management, banking, payments and crypto having started his career in Lloyds Bank. He is known for embedding a strong compliance and risk culture across businesses, experienced in rapidly scaling international businesses in addition to having extensive advisory expertise.
Maria Murphy
Head of Finance
Maria helps Segpay Ireland operate effectively and in line with regulatory standards.
As Head of Finance for Segpay Ireland, Maria oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the company, as well as working with Segregated Payments Global Finance Team. For Maria, providing financial and strategic support is the most rewarding part of the role.
Outside of the office, Maria enjoys spending time with her family, walking, and keeping fit.
Paul Haugh
Head of Underwriting
Paul helps Segpay onboard new merchants in line with regulatory requirements and the corporate risk appetite.
As Head of Underwriting, Paul oversees the global underwriting team. For Paul, mentoring and developing the team to onboard new merchants whilst protecting the business is the most rewarding part of the job.
Outside of the office, Paul enjoys swimming, reading and gardening.
Christopher Hamilton
Money Laundering Reporting Officer
Christopher ensures that Segpay and its European clients comply with evolving and stringent regulatory standards. As the MLRO in Dublin, he manages anti-money laundering and countering terrorism financing measures for Segpay’s EU operations.
Starting his career at Accenture Ireland, Christopher has developed expertise in payments, EMIs, and the crypto sphere. He values the importance of strong compliance in maintaining a secure business environment.
He is known for his hands-on approach and effectiveness under pressure, maintaining diligence in regulatory practices.
Outside work, Christopher enjoys playing cricket, traveling, and having braais with friends and family.
