The Phoenix Forum wrapped up this past Sunday, March 25th, and Segpay joins in thanking the show hosts, sponsors and everyone who attended and made it a successful event.
Besides having the chance to re-connect with clients, partners and good friends – and seeing Cathy, our CEO, speak on a panel discussion examining which billing trends are “real vs. hype” – we took away the following from our time in Phoenix:
- Regulations were the talk of the show, and understandably so. From SESTA/FOSTA’s controversial anti sex-trafficking measures to GDPR’s data privacy protections to Age Verification requirements in the UK, the entire industry is preparing for change. As we recently announced, Cathy was named a board member of the Free Speech Coalition (FSC), giving Segpay a front row seat in preparing and advocating in advance of regulations like these. So please feel free to use us as a resource or a sounding board to discuss your own thoughts and ideas about these, or any other governmental policies affecting you.
- Cryptocurrency was another hot topic in Phoenix, as it has been at every recent show we’ve attended. Bottom line, there is a place for it in our industry, and although several companies are trying to crack the code, things are still a bit premature in terms of having a viable base of crypto-paying consumers. However, significant capital and investment is funneling in to help things along.
Did you attend the Phoenix Forum? If so, please share your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks again to everyone who caught up with us at the show, and we look forward to seeing you at XBIZ Miami.
