Up to this point, our Get to Know a Segpay Employee series has focused on newer members of the team. However, today we are profiling a true Segpay veteran, our VP of Operations, Jeff Rosenzweig. Many of you probably know Jeff already, but there is always more to the story when it comes to “The Real Rosey” (or were we not supposed to mention that name?) 🙂

What is your role at Segpay?

To support Cathy (Segpay’s CEO) and help turn her visions into reality. Ultimately, my role is to ensure our merchants have everything they need to be successful and happy.

How long have you worked here?

Four years with Segpay, but Cathy and I also worked together for five years at another organization.

Where are you from?

Syosset, NY, on Long Island. Proud to say we’ve produced some great talent, including Natalie Portman, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal and Judd Apatow, all of whom graduated from my high school.

What brought you to Florida?

I came here in 1990 when I was newly engaged, and my future wife and I wanted to escape the northeast and try something new.

Where were you working before Segpay?

For about eight years I had been working in digital marketing, generating traffic and converting it into sales for ecommerce merchants. One day, Cathy called and asked if I would join her at Segpay. As mentioned, she and I worked together before, and I jumped at the chance to work with her again, especially when I saw the environment she was creating at Segpay. You could see it was a tight group, like a family. It still is today. You don’t find that very often.

What is your professional background?

I started my career teaching middle school math here in Broward county. I got into programming on the side and eventually left the school system to work at a dot-com startup. It failed, but one of my colleagues went to work at a billing company and brought me along. That is where I met and started working for Cathy. The rest, as they say….

Do you have a long term career goal (if you’re not there already)?

Well, my first choice was to play centerfield for the NY Mets. Somehow that one didn’t work out and here I am. đŸ˜Š

Where did you go to school?

Did my Bachelor’s at the U of Maryland, and later picked up an M.S. degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Any hobbies?

Video games. League of Legends and a little Fortnite. I recently acquired a Nintendo Switch as well. Besides that, good food, good wine and good cigars.

Watching anything good on TV these days?

Ozark and Billions.

Play any sports?

I was playing a lot of flag football, basketball and softball until a torn Achilles ended my playing career for good last year. â˜č

What’s on your bucket list?

Climb Everest. Play a round at Pebble Beach, see the Aurora Borealis. Learn to fly – and surf (the latter in Hawaii, preferably).

Favorite place you’ve visited?

Italy. It’s a beautiful country with amazing food and wine. Would love to retire in Tuscany someday. Add that to my bucket list. đŸ˜Š
