The Prostasia Foundation is hosting a full-day workshop called, Internet Platforms, Sexual Content and Child Protection, May 23rd from 9:30-6 in San Francisco, in which a diverse group of experts answers the important question:
How can Internet platforms protect children from abuse, while preserving space for legitimate sexual expression and discussion online, and minimizing risk?
Segpay CEO Cathy Beardsley will be part of the discussion, representing the payment processor’s point of view. She’ll explain how rigorous compliance processes help Segpay and other billers manage risk – and protect children and other vulnerable groups – by enforcing rules imposed by governments, banks and the card brands. Her short talk should help adult content providers better understand why these compliance requirements are not about censorship, and why they are so necessary for protecting all parties involved in this highly regulated industry.
If you’re going to be in the Bay Area on May 23rd, please stop by for what should be a very thought-provoking discussion.
