Reduce Risk by Verifying a Cardholder’s Identity Up Front

Age Verification in France

Earlier this year, YNOT.com interviewed Segpay’s Cathy Beardsley and Jeff Rosenzweig about our plans for 2018. Those plans included a verification feature to ensure cardholders are who they say they are. As of today, that feature is available to merchants who want to bolster their fraud defenses with another layer of security.

Here’s how it works: immediately after signing up, your consumer is directed to submit payment for a small, undisclosed amount, then asked to get the amount from his or her credit card account and enter it on your site to complete verification. Only then can the consumer purchase one of your services or products.

Merchants interested in implementing this verification step should first contact [email protected] and get approval. Details about setting it up can be found in our documentation.
